Program Description
| This experiential program prepares
Students with advanced skills necessary to provide safe long-term
care to Residents in various health care settings. Care Aide's
also receive training in Lifts and Transfers, W.H.M.I.S, First
Aid, CPR and Food Safe.

Admission Requirements:
Grade 12 graduation, or 19 years of age or older with successful
completion of the following:
Successful completion of English assessment test
Pre-admission application and interview
Satisfactory completion of criminal records check
Acceptable medical examination and TB Test or chest X-ray results, completed by a physician
Influenza and Hepatitis immunizations are advised - consult your physician
Graduation Requirements:
A minimum score of 70% in each course
of the program
Completion of all assignments, and
presentation within the allocated timeframes
Full participation in healthcare workshop
Successful completion of practicum

settings or in group settings such as Long Term Care Facilities,
Family Service Agencies, Private Home Care Agencies, Assisted
Living Facilities, Community Health Care Agencies, Nursing
Homes, Adult Day Care Centers. With our aging population,
